What we hold, and why
This is a trade site. Almost everything it knows about you is information you already gave the counter when the account was opened — here is the rest of it, in plain terms.
Who we are
Anitha Home Appliances, No 9, 1st Floor, Toovepuram 8th Street, Near Old Bus Stand, Tuticorin, Tamil Nadu — 628003. For anything on this page, call the counter that serves you; the numbers are on the contact page.
What we hold
Your account
The details recorded when your trade account was opened — business name, contact name, mobile number, email address, delivery and billing addresses, GSTIN — together with the trading history that goes with it: orders, delivery notes, invoices and payments. This is the business record we would hold whether or not you ever used this website.
What you do here
Baskets you build, enquiries you send, orders you place, and staff logins you create. If you are signed in, these are attached to your account; a guest basket is held against a random token and belongs to nobody.
Technical
Your network address is passed to our own systems with each request, so that limits on sign-in attempts, enquiries and orders apply to one visitor rather than to everybody at once. Sign-in times and the address used are recorded against your account, so that unexpected access is visible.
Cookies
Four, all set by this site, none of them advertising:
- ahp_session — keeps you signed in. It cannot be read by scripts in your browser, which is what stops your trade rates leaking out of the page.
- ahp_basket — holds a guest basket so it survives until you sign in.
- ahp_department — remembers which part of the catalogue you were looking at.
- ahp_reorder_note — carries a one-time message after a re-order, and expires within minutes.
There is no analytics, advertising or third-party tracking script on this site. Nothing here follows you to another website, because there is nothing here that could.
What we use it for
- pricing, fulfilling and invoicing your orders;
- keeping your account and your rates from being seen by others;
- answering your enquiries, and calling you back about them;
- meeting our obligations under tax and company law, which is why billing records outlast the account itself.
Who else sees it
Our own staff at the counter that serves you, and the people who carry your goods, who need the delivery address. Beyond that, only where the law requires it — a tax authority, for instance. We do not sell your details and we do not pass them to anyone for their own marketing.
How long we keep it
Trading records — orders, delivery notes, invoices, payments — are kept for as long as tax and accounting law requires them. Baskets and enquiries are kept for as long as they are useful to answer.
Keeping it safe
Passwords are stored hashed and cannot be read back by anyone, including us. Prices are never sent to your browser except as part of a page rendered for your signed-in session. Repeated failed sign-ins lock an account rather than letting someone keep guessing.
Putting things right
If anything we hold about you is wrong — the GSTIN on your invoices, an address, a phone number — call your counter and it is corrected on the account itself, which fixes it everywhere it appears. The same applies if you want to know what we hold, or want an account closed.
